The photographs in the album depict forts, mosques, temples, tombs, gardens, and other major landmarks in the northern part of colonial India, which later became northern India and Pakistan. The first series of photos depicts Mogul monuments in and around Agra. The second series shows Gupta and Mogul monuments that were built next to and even on top of each other in Delhi. The third series depicts a wide variety of religious buildings, including Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Sikh, and Islamic sites. The inscription on the inside of the front cover suggests that the album was created in 1906 and was originally owned by E. Reynolds of Norwich.
